Things to Consider When Hiring VCE and Maths Tutor (Jhon Sully)

Many students require extra help to bring out their full potential during their school life. VCE is a strenuous time in a teenager's life. A great deal of hard work, determination and commitment is required to get a Victorian Certificate of Education. Good foundation is extremely vital for every child's overall development. Some students also require help outside their school, in the various studies. The degree and kind of help a student might require could differ from person to person. Tutoring goes a long way in helping students to maximise his or her ENTER score or scholarship tests' score. With the help of maths tutor and VCE tutor, they can improve all the time in their studies.

The future life of every student depends on VCE so timely help can make a big difference in the progress of a student. Students can either go for individual tutoring or join group classes of VCE tutor. Learning the basics of Maths is extremely imperative for each student so it is advisable to hire a professional maths tutor if your child is weak in mathematics. It offers great opportunity to make up for what might be missing in their day school. A professional tutoring service that has trained tutors in all subject areas will provide the help required to address weaknesses of your adolescent.

Some tutoring companies also have education experts to develop curriculum. Taking help from such a company, you can give a learning advantage to your adolescent over the competitors. Some tutoring services also offer special tutoring to prepare students for scholarship tests. A good choice is to go for a service that regularly updates their curriculum to stay in line with standards and state guidelines. This way, your adolescents will always keep up academically with their peers and get the academic challenge they require to advance in a particular subject. Allowing a tutor to come at your house and provide tutoring services to your teenager will also be advantageous in that you do not have to take him to another place.

Studies have also shown that teenagers learn best when they hear, see and do the learning themselves instead of merely sitting through a coaching class. These days, students enjoy information presented on video. Such kinds of video are accessible online 24/7 and can easily fit into a student's busy schedule. That's why; a self-paced online video course which has accompanying study guides has a lot of benefits over VCE tutoring services. It also helps to get prepared for the scholarship tests. The price for this proven online video course is also much more affordable than Maths tutor and VCE tutor. We are an excellent coaching institution in Australia that helps students to pass in Selective High school Test for various examinations. We provide home tutor and VCE tutor as per individual students need at affordable rates.

Algebra With Applications (Nandan Nayak)

INTRODUCTION TO BEGINNING ALGEBRA WITH APPLICATIONS:

Algebra was popularized in the early ninth century by al-Khowarizmi,The author of the first algebra book was preferred by , Al-jabr wa'l Muqabalah, from which the English word algebra is derived. Linear Algebra,Beginning Algebra and its Applications publishes articles to contribute new information and to matrix theory and finite dimensional linear algebra in their algebraic, arithmetic, combinatorial, geometric, or numerical aspects (operations with matrices, inverse matrix, determinants.

Definition of beginning algebra and applications:

Algebra is a word of an Arabic language . It means that "Bringing together broken parts" Beginning algebra is covered to simplifying the expressions, solving linear equations,co ordinates and graphing .

Algebra is generalization of arithmetic and follows same laws (such as associative, cumulative, distributive) and operations (such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) of arithmetic. Algebra deals with both numerals and literals. Thus, 2x+2x=4x and x*y=y*x no matter what numbers x and y represent

Applications of beginning algebra:

Application 1: To find the Greatest common factor and least common multiplication

Application 2: The algebraic expressions , pre-algebra topics can be factorized and expanded

Application 3: Simplification of algebraic polynomial equations and expressions

Application 4: To simplpify and perform operations with complex numbers (Real number+ Imaginary number (a+ib))

Application 5: Solving the various types equation like linear equation, quadratic and many other equations ( including logarithm, exponents) and

inequalities

Application 6: To solve a system more than two linear equations and find the value each variable by using cramer's rule.

Application 7: Plotting the various types of graphs like lines, parabolas, hyperbolas, circles, ellipses, equation and inequality solutions.

Application 8: Basic geometry and trigonometry and calculate the sides and angle of right - angle triangle

Simplifying Expressions in beginning algebra with applications

(2y + 5)(y - 6) ? Is this the same as 2y + 5(y - 6) ?
No, the parentheses change it. Here we can use the distributive law twice:

(2y + 5)(y - 6)

= (2y + 5)(y) - (2y + 5)(6)

= 2y2+ 5y - 12y - 30 (remember to change the sign on that last term)

= 2y2 - 7y - 30 .

Another method beginning algebra:

First, Outside, Inside, Last.

(2y + 5)(y - 6)

. . . . F . . O . . I . . L . . . .

= (2y)(y) - (2y)(6) + (5)(y) - (5)(6)

= 2y^2 - 12y + 5y -30

= 2y^2 - 7y -30

Answer of the given begining algebra problem is 2y^2 - 7y -30

(n + 3)(n - 3) = n2 - 3n + 3n - 9

= n2 - 9.

In general, (a + b)(a - b) = a^2 - b^2

Advantages of Hiring a Home Tutor (Dustin Kerr)

Education is important for everyone. Without a proper education, it is difficult to get anywhere in life and it is very necessary for our overall development. Many schooling systems which are prevalent in society nowadays serve this purpose. Getting a well-rounded education means studying a wide variety of subject matter. Schools provide a good platform for education; along with that they also help in imparting social skills and at the same time teach students about the rules of society and the importance of abiding by these rules. Schools help them grow in a group, but this has a disadvantage because there is no personal touch owing to the large number of students in a class. Among the many, some students have at least one problematic subject that consistently causes problems throughout their school years. Rather than allowing your child to suffer through their education, consistently relying on the traditional educational model of classroom tutelage, consider hiring a private tutor to teach them the subjects that a student may be having problems with.

The sooner you start the better it is. Providing the right tutor for your child when they are young will only be an advantage for them in their future lives. There are many reasons why hiring home tutors is beneficial for a young learner, and the first among these is fewer distractions. In your home, you can easily control the environment to make it more conducive to learning: you can turn off the television and computer, set a strict schedule and even design lessons with your tutor to complement your child's unique learning style. This is unlike the classroom setting, which is prone to distractions such as noise and other interruptions from your child's peers.

In addition to having less distractions, primary home tuition also allows you more freedom as to what subjects to tackle and how much. You can keep your focus on topics that your child may be struggling with before moving on to other subjects. Moreover, you can also cover more topics in a shorter amount of time compared with classroom learning. This is because a private tutor can work with your child's pace and adapt his or her teaching strategies to make the most out of the time allotted for lessons.

One-on-one instruction is also helpful in building your child's confidence and self-esteem. This is because tailored instruction enables him to learn better, and the more your child understands and accomplishes at school, the more he becomes confident in his own abilities. Private tutoring is also beneficial for shy children as it gives them an avenue where they can freely ask questions without worrying about the impression their inquiries will leave on their peers.

When selecting a tutor for your child, it is necessary that you check the educational qualifications of the tutor, the past experiences that he/she has had with earlier students, the tuition fees that will be charged and of course the candidates personality which is the most important factor because you will be entrusting your child in their hands. A proper tutor will be able to bring out the best in your child and also be able to increase your child's potential to give out more to the society.

Ultimately, focused learning in the comfort of your home will help cultivate a healthy attitude towards school and a great love for learning - two factors that can help lead your child to a life of success.

Hiring a home tutor has a number of advantages. You can now easily find a tutor in Brisbane or anywhere else, online. Want to become a home tutor? Check out this site to know more.

Set of Data Points (p Nitin)

All branches of Math can be brought into the frame work of set theory. Let us recall what we have learnt the sets by answering the following questions: Define a set, empty set, disjoint sets, subsets, power set, universal set, complement of a set, operations on sets and give some examples.

German mathematician Gottlob presented the set theory as principles of logic. Bertrand Russell (1872-1970 A.D) and Paul Hal mos proposed paradoxes in set theory. Cantor is the father of modern theory of sets. The set of data points example problems and practice problems are given below.

Example problems for learning sets of data points :

Learning set of data points-Example problem 1:

In a higher secondary class, 66 play football, 56 play hockey, 63 play cricket, 27 play both football and hockey, 25 play hockey and cricket, 23 play cricket and football and 5 do not play any game. If the strength of the class is 130.

Calculate (i) the number who play only two games,

(ii) the number who play only football and

(iii) number of students who play all the three games

Solution:

Let F, H, C be the sets those who play football, hockey and cricket respectively.
Strength of the class n(?) = 130
No. of students who play football = n(F) = 66
No. of students who play hockey = n(H) = 56
No. of students who play cricket = n(C) = 63
No. of students who play football and hockey = n(FnH) = 27

No. of students who play hockey and cricket = n(H n C) = 25
No. of students who play cricket and football = n(C n F) = 23
Let the no. of students who play all the three games = n(F n H n C) = x
No. of students who do not play any game = 5

No. of students who play only football
= 66 - (27 - x + x + 23 - x)

= 66 - (50 - x) = 66 - 50 + x = 16 + x
No. of students who play only hockey
= 56 - (27 - x + x + 25 - x)
= 56 - (52 - x) = 4 + x
No. of students who play only cricket
= 63 - (23 - x + x + 25 - x) = 63 - (48 - x) = 15 + x

No. of students who play at least one game is
n(F?H?C) = n(?) - No. of students who do not play = 130 - 5 = 125
From the diagram, n (F ? H ? C) = 16 + x + 27 - x + 4 + x + 23 - x + x + 25 - x + 15 + x = 110 + x
110 + x = 125, x = 125 - 110 = 15.
i) No.of students who play only two games = 27 - x + 23 - x + 25 - x = 75 - 3x
= 75 - 3(15) = 75 - 45 = 30
ii) No. of students who play only football = 16 + x = 16 + 15 = 31
iii) No. of students who play all the three games = x = 15

Learning set of data points - Proof1

1. Union of two sets is commutative

A ? B = B ? A.

For example, given A = {-2, 3, -15, 7} and B = {3, 5, 9, 11} we see that
A ? B = {-15, -2, 3, 5, 7, 9, 11}, B ? A = {-15, -2, 3, 5, 7, 9, 11} ? A ? B = B ? A

Learning set of data points- Proof 2:

2. Intersection of two sets is commutative

A n B = B n A.

For example, given A = {7, 5, 2, ,6} and B = {3, 6, 7, 12}.

We see that A n B = {7, 6}; B n A = {7, 6} ? A n B = B n A.

Practice problem for learning set of data points :

Practice problem:

Verify the commutative laws of union and intersection of the following sets
(i) A = {1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6}, B = {5, 6, 7, 8} (ii) A = {a, e, i, o, u}, B = {a, u}

Ans: (1) AnB = { 5, 6}, AUB = {1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8}

(2) AnB = {a, u}, AUB = {a, e, i, o, u}

Hiring a Tutor Can Stop Homework Battles in Their Tracks (Vera Howard)

Many parents cringe when it comes time for their child to get started on their homework. Mom or Dad braces for the excuses, complaints, and sometimes even tears that can accompany that stressful time of day. If you have ever taken part in the "Homework Battle" with your child then you have probably wondered what you can do to control the situation so that the work gets done without a fuss.

Tears of Frustration
Homework often becomes a battle for a child in elementary or middle school because he or she doesn't understand the concepts behind the assignment. The child may feel so frustrated that they melt down without explaining the problem. Instead of letting your child pull you into an argument, ask them about the assignment to see if they need extra help. If they really are struggling then you may want to consider a private in-home tutor until your child feels more confident.

Parent/child relationships tend to involve power struggles that have nothing to do with school work. Children are less likely to make excuses with a tutor because a tutor represents the teacher instead of the parent. Once you eliminate the parent/child dynamic, the real work can begin. A tutor can cut through the excuses and get to the heart of the lesson as well as evaluate the situation to see where the child should focus.

Tutoring Intervention

Some parents may not have the time or energy to sit down with their child each night to make sure that homework is being done correctly. They may hire a tutor a few afternoons a week to keep on top of things for them. Other parents schedule a tutor once or twice a week. That is usually enough time to review newly learned concepts and devise strategies for attacking homework efficiently.

If your child has organizational issues then a tutor can help them learn how to manage their time well. The tutor can teach note-taking techniques and reinforce study skills that can set the foundation for future learning. Tutors can set up a reinforcement system to make sure the child consistently brings home the books he or she needs to do assignments.

If it is possible to have the tutor make contact with your child's classroom teacher then you should encourage it. The tutor can find the key areas to focus on during tutoring sessions when speaking directly with the teacher. The tutor may even be able to work out a deal with the classroom teacher so that a set of books is always kept at home instead of hoping the correct books make it home each day. It's helpful for the classroom teacher to see that you are working as a team to keep your child performing well academically.

Hiring a tutor can make a big difference in how your child handles homework assignments. It doesn't have to be a permanent solution. Eventually your child will be able to handle things on their own. Then when a new concept comes up that gives them trouble, they can verbalize it to you so that you can contact the tutor for additional support.

If your child is having problems in school, Bright Tutoring can help you find the right in-home tutor. http://www.brighttutoring.com. We provide private tutors for all kids from elementary through high school in the following Arizona cities:Scottsdale, Phoenix, Ahwatukee, Chandler, Gilbert, Mesa, Peoria, Glendale, Surprise, Anthem.

Advantages and Disadvantages of Home Tutoring (Dustin Kerr)

The world is becoming increasingly competitive, and because of this, people need more skills and better information to face the challenges of tomorrow. Because of the importance of education, and because not everyone has the same grasping power, there are varied ways of getting educated, with one of them being home tutoring. Home tutoring is becoming quite famous, and many parents are now wondering whether they should sign their wards up with a home tutor. Home tutoring is different from home schooling. In the former, the teacher reiterates the information that the student gets in the school or college, while in the latter, the ward does not go to school at all, but is homeschooled - that is, they are taught everything at home. Here are some advantages and disadvantages of home tutoring.

Home tutoring is the best way out for students who require extra attention. With home tutoring, students get exclusive and dedicated attention for a teacher. In fact, home tutoring is so effective that many people think that it gives an undue advantage to students. A few decades ago, home tutoring was considered a requisite for only those students who were academically poor, but with the changing trends, even the best and brightest hire home tutors.

Home tutoring is highly advantageous for students as well as teachers. Some former teachers who have quit teaching can make a decent amount of money by providing home tutoring services, and the students get a taste of the old school teaching.

Home tutors may charge either per hour or on a monthly basis. Depending on the tutor, it is quite possible that the student becomes more knowledgeable and gets their concepts clearer than their counterparts get.

There are some disadvantages of home tutoring too. To begin with, this is not a concept that is monitored by any educational institutions and other organisations. In many countries, teachers who teach in schools cannot home tutor, which brings in a number of people with questionable teaching capabilities into the picture. Because the market is not monitored, you will find many so-called teachers who promise an exponential increase in the child's grades, or straight out say that they will do their best but cannot promise anything, because it finally depends on the student. In some rare cases, you would even need to ensure that the child is safe with the tutor, as there are many cases where people touting to be teachers have taken undue advantage of their interactions with younger students.

The concept of home tutoring might turn out to be very expensive too. Compare the cost of home tutoring to public transport. If you take the bus, you will spend much less, because you are travelling in a crowd, with people. If you take a cab, you will pay much more, because you are moving individually. In the same way, when you go to coaching classes, you pay a lump sum fee, but when you hire a home tutor, or tutors, you are essentially hiring them for an extended amount of time. This expense really hits home when you need to hire multiple teachers for various subjects.

These are some pros and cons of appointing a tutor for private tutoring. If you are considering about hiring such a tutor, take a look at this website.

Teaching Your Children Modern Manners (Cathryn Harper)

My mother loved Emily Post. Most readers today don't know the name, but EP was the epitome of good manners, advising all who sought advice on social, business, home, family and special event matters. Going far beyond what greeting to recite and which fork to use, Ms. Post went on to form the Emily Post Institute, which continues to guide those in need of a little social grooming toward the right approach.

Not all of us want, or even need, to be well-versed in how to greet heads of state or a royal family member, but the world has become so casual that many forget, or have never learned, some of the most basic manners that set us apart as civilized as opposed to savage.

I took my girls to classes in basic niceties that also taught children how to dance, how to perform introductions, how to set a table, and how to politely refuse an invitation, and oh, I wish a few of my friends had done the same. As the saying goes, you can lead a horse to water, but you can't make him drink. Or say excuse me.

Still, there are some things that would play better if people minded their manners. In queues, at parties, behind the wheel, and just about anywhere where one's intentions might be misinterpreted, Emily Post's helpful hand would be appreciated.

Where did my generation learn manners? Mostly from parents, as well as from other people's parents, and also in school, church, boy scouts and girl scouts. Coaches, teachers, relatives and friends would all take us aside and whisper to us when we stepped outside the bounds of good behavior. And, most of us listened. Remove your hat when you enter a building, or when the National Anthem is played. Open doors for women and the elderly. Use 'please' and 'thank you.' Bring a small gift for your hostess. Little things, really, in the grand scheme, but they made life a little nicer.

Today, things are edgier, crisper, less formal. And people are in a hurry with little time for outdated formalities. People make careers today out of things that were outright rude just a few decades ago, like asking intrusive personal questions, intentionally embarrassing someone, or gossiping, staring and pointing. I mean, what would a reality show be without all of that?

It often seems that today, people just don't see the need. Or do they? Perhaps I am misjudging, and perhaps there are still many parents, teachers, and coaches out there, engaging children in doing the right thing. I took a peek online, and found many sites geared toward learning Western manners, offering training for those headed to America to study or work. Still more sites offered courses in international protocol and diplomacy. There were a few sites directed internally, by Americans, for Americans. As we move toward a more toward a global society, international manners, as well as local ones, might just help us become a little kinder toward strangers, and a little gentler on those we love, as well as an improved nation overall. Improving our own children's behavior is a great place to start.

Encouraging Children To Read Outside Of School (Hannah McCarthy)

It's common knowledge that children who enjoy reading and take the time to read outside of school go on to achieve greater academic success than their non reading peers. However, current trends are proving to be unsettling for advocates of extra curricular reading. With libraries across the country under the threat of closure and children increasingly turning to video games for their after school entertainment, it seems that fewer and fewer children are developing strong reading habits. So what can concerned parents do to encourage their children to read outside of school and help arrest this decline in reading levels?

One key thing that parents can do is act as good 'reading role models'. Experts have suggested that the mere experience of seeing parents reading makes it more likely that young children will want to pick up a book. Parents should also take the time to read with children from a young age, both reading to them and having them read to you. This demonstrates strong parental investment in reading to the child, helping to build early enthusiasm and interest that acts as a foundation for a child's independent reading.

Another measure that parents can take is to ensure that children have good access to new reading materials. This can take many forms. If you have access to a library nearby, it's a good idea to give children their own library card and take them on regular trips to the library to borrow new books. Parents can also take steps to make sure that their house is well stocked with books, allowing parents to guide children's reading through recommendations, while also allowing them to explore their own interests. Kids should also have space for their own books in their rooms, as a personal collection of books enhances feelings of ownership and investment in the reading experience.

But it's not all about books, of course. Having a daily newspaper lying round the house can be a good way to introduce casual reading into a child's life, while a well stocked rack of magazines can help kids to explore new interests. Purchasing a magazine subscription for a child can also help to increase the sense of excitement around reading, as children are often thrilled by a new issue coming through the post every month, especially if it has their name on it.

Overall, the key to encouraging children to read outside of school is not to make it feel like a chore or even a punishment. Forcing children to read at specified times of the day is unlikely to help kids enjoy their reading, while denying kids access to other forms of entertainment such as TV and video games will make reading seem punitive. Successful encouragement is all about providing a good example while making sure that kids have ready access to appropriate reading resources. Parents have a vital, guiding role in the early stages of a child's reading life, so take active steps to nourish it and see your kids benefit from their reading in other areas of their life.

Leapfrog Tag Reader- Making Reading Fun (Farida Chandra)

You may have noticed that children are able to learn new concepts and things much faster than an adult. The reason for this being that the mind of a child is still developing, so it is much easier for a child to comprehend new concepts than it is for an adult. The years between the ages of four to nine are the most important years in a child's life. It is very important for parents to ensure that their child is given the right education and taught using the correct methods.

Every child has their own individual personality. Some maybe fast learners while others may be slow learners. However, the pattern of the things that need to be taught to the child does not change. A child first begins by learning to say small words, by the age 2 or 3 he is able to speak quite a lot and has quite a huge vocabulary. By the age of four years, parents begin to teach their children how to read. Children tend to take a dislike to things very easily. Even though most children are enrolled in a Montessori, with all the activities that take place it is not possible for the teacher to give each child the individual attention needed. Most often this results in the child having a poor reading ability. Therefore, it is vital that a parent gives the child extra reading lessons when he comes home. There are plenty of gadgets and books available in the market that helps to teach a child to read. There are certain books meant to teach children of various age groups to read. There are many pupils, who are scared of going near horses; however, this programme impressively builds and strengthens children's new horsemanship skills. The participants of this programme are told to confidently groom, ride, track along with managing and directing horses in an open area. This way, they are given an opportunity to experience different, unique, profound and happy interactions with horses. This can further helps children to extend the same positive emotions to their relationships with their friends, family members and other people.

Many people find this 'horse therapy' unorthodox; however, the reality is that it has improved the social skills, as well as, learning ability of children who participated in the programme. Both horsemanship and school education require similar skills to excel. For example, the right attitude towards learning, persistence to succeed and discipline are some of the things that are required in both horsemanship, as well as, school subjects. Many students participated in EQUAL-ARK horsemanship classes after failing their PSLE examinations. Many of them were extremely low on confidence and not willing to study after getting poor academic results. These classes not only helped them build up their confidence, but they also learned how to encourage others.

The people, who are associated with the programme, feels that it is the public support and donations that keep such programmes going. The annual expenditure to run the EQUAL-ARK programme comes out around $300,000. Most of the expenditure relates to the horses' upkeep, teaching amenities, the pay of the instructors along with training courses for volunteers employed for EQUAL-ARK. The participants of these programmes can, after completing their graduation, give back by volunteering providing horse therapy sessions at the hospitals and charitable organisations of Singapore.
